On September 13, 2017 a lecture on opisthobranchus molluscs, presented by Manuel Ballesteros, was held in Classroom 9 of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona, with the participation of Miquel Pontes and Enric Madrenas, the three founding members of VIMAR research group.
These talks, open to the general public, had good attendance. There were members of CIB, Biology students and several divers who wanted to know this group of interesting invertebrates in depth.
Miquel Pontes presented the biodiversity and biology of the opisthobranchus molluscs in a presentation of the different groups of opisthobranchs, highlighting the most interesting characteristics of each group, such as food, reproductive and defense, very elaborated in these animals.
Enric Madrenas presented the different methods that can be used to detect the animals in the natural environment, as well as different sampling techniques that allow the recording of these data in a way that scientifically valid conclusions can be obtained.
