Biology

Etymology

  • Diacavolinia. From Greek “dia”, separated from + “Cavolinia”, dedicated to Filippo Cavolini (1756-1810), botanyst from Naples, Italy, pioneer in polyp research.
  • Longirostris. From Latin “longus”, long, extended + “rostrum”, beak, face.
