Classification provided by the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). [597199<\/a>]<\/p><\/div>Taxonomic note<\/strong>: Paz-Sedano et al (2024) phylogenetic analyses and species delimitation tests showed that\u00a0Okenia longiductis<\/em>\u00a0Pola, Paz-Sedano, Macali, Minchin, Marchini, Vitale, Licchelli & Crocetta, 2019 and\u00a0Okenia polycerelloides<\/em>\u00a0(Ortea & Bouchet, 1983) as the same species, and thus,\u00a0O. longiductis<\/em>\u00a0is synonym of\u00a0O. polycerelloides<\/em>. The genus\u00a0Bermudella<\/em>\u00a0(type species\u00a0Polycerella zoobotryon<\/em>\u00a0\/\u00a0Bermudella zoobotryon<\/em>\u00a0(Smallwood, 1910)) was erected by Odhner (1941) to separate the species\u00a0Polycera zoobotryon<\/em>\u00a0based on the presence of a buccal bulb and the shape of the teeth, which was similar to Goniodorididae.\u00a0Bermudella<\/em>\u00a0species have simple, short, and digitiform papillae, homogenously distributed along the sides of the body. Also, few dorsal papillae with similar shape to lateral ones are present, sparse lamellae in rhinophores, and digitiform oral tentacles. A previous morphological assessment also clustered\u00a0B. brunneomaculata, B. angelensis, B. pellucida<\/em>, and\u00a0B. zoobotryon<\/em>\u00a0based on the similarities between the oral tentacles and the sparse rhinophoral lamellae (Gosliner, 2004). Rudman (2004) grouped the\u00a0Bermudella<\/em>\u00a0species based on the feeding source: ctenostome bryozoans (i.e., species of\u00a0Amathia<\/em>\u00a0Lamouroux, 1812). Thus, Paz-Sedano et al (2024) suggest transferring all these species to\u00a0Bermudella<\/em>\u00a0until new material is sequenced.<\/p>\n
