Nota taxonómica: Clasificado inicialmente dentro del género
Tritonia, Korshunova & Martynov (2020) sugieren la posibilidad de trasladar esta especie al género
Duvaucelia, pero dado que la descripción de esta especie indica que tiene el velo frontal bilobulado, lo más probable (a falta de análisis genéticos) es que pertenezca al género
Tritonia, siguiendo los criterios establecidos por estos mismos autores. Sin embargo, un trabajo presentado por De Vasconcelos et al. (2023) asigna la antigua
Tritonia taliartensis al género
Candiella en base a resultados filogenéticos.

Descripción
Cuerpo pequeño (el holotipo mide 7.5 mm de largo), de sección cuadrada y de color amarillo, con el borde del manto y el espacio entre los rinóforos de un amarillo más intenso, de tono anaranjado. Hacia la mitad del dorso hay dos manchas centradas, ovaladas y abultadas, de color blanco. El cuerpo tiene una anchura uniforme desde la cabeza hasta la mitad, estrechándose seguidamente hasta la cola. La cabeza dispone de un velo anterior bilobulado, con cinco ramificaciones pequeñas bifurcadas en cada uno de los lóbulos, espaciadas regularmente por el borde. En los márgenes del noto tiene diez pares de arborizaciones branquiales, los dos primeros pares poco desarrollados y luego las situadas en posiciones impares (3, 5, 7 y 9) más desarrolladas y bifurcadas que las situadas en posiciones pares (4, 6, 8, 10). Los rinóforos están protegidos por una vaina rinofórica muy alta de color amarillo, con el borde redondeado y algo abierto hacia el exterior; rinóforos con un mucrón bien desarrollado y de color amarillo que contrasta con el anillo de papilas circundantes, que son hialinas y con el ápice blanco. Cuando los rinóforos están extendidos las papilas pueden ser más largas que el propio mucrón. Ojos situados en la base posterior de los rinóforos, donde pueden verse por transparencia. El pie tiene el borde anterior redondeado y por lo demás tiene la misma forma que el cuerpo.
Biología
El único ejemplar capturado se halló entre restos de coral e hidrozoos en una red calada a 200 metros de profundidad. No se sabe nada más de su biología.
Etimología
- Candiella. Los autores clásicos no explicaban habitualmente el origen de los nombres elegidos.
- Taliartensis, por Taliarte, localidad situada en la isla de Gran Canaria, cercana al punto donde fue recolectado el holotipo.
Distribución
Solo se conoce en base a un único ejemplar capturado en febrero de 1983 en Taliarte, Telde, Gran Canaria.
