Architectonicoidea
Situados dentro del grupo informal Heterobranchia basales, los Architectonicoidea forman un grupo de caracoles marinos, con categoría de Superfamilia, con conchas enrolladas en espiral, a menudo ornamentadas, que se categorizan como Heterobranquios por heterostrofia, la morfología de los espermatozoides y del osfradio, así como por determinadas características genéticas.

La mayoría son de pequeño tamaño, de costumbres bentónicas, que viven bajo piedras en el submareal, pero también en microhábitats especializados. Su clasificación filogenética aún no estaba resuelta en 2018, pero existen varios estudios en curso.
El orden Architectonicida (equivalente a la Superfamilia Architectonicoidea sensu lato) comparten las características mencionadas de ser caracoles bentónicos con la concha en espiral muy aplanada, que suelen estar pigmentados de color marrón y ornamentados. Disponen de un morro y un pie ancho y bifido, y un par de tentáculos anchos y alargados en la cabeza. El grupo tiene 3 familias a nivel mundial, todas ellas presentes en aguas europeas.
