Nota taxonòmica: Classificat inicialment dins el gènere
Tritonia, Korshunova & Martinov (2020) suggereixen la possibilitat de traslladar aquesta espècie al gènere
Duvaucelia, però atès que la descripció d’aquesta espècie indica que té el vel frontal bilobul·lat, el més probable (a manca d’anàlisis genètiques) és que pertanyi al gènere
Tritonia, seguint els criteris establerts per aquests mateixos autors. Tot i així, un treball presentat per De Vasconcelos et al. (2023) assigna l’antiga
Tritonia taliartensis al gènere
Candiella en base a resultats filogenètics.

Descripció
Cos petit (l’holotipus amida 7.5 mm de llarg), de secció quadrada i de color groc, amb la vora de el mantell i l’espai entre els rinòfors d’un groc més intens, d’un to ataronjat. Cap a la meitat de el dors hi ha dues taques centrades, ovalades i voluminoses, de color blanc. El cos té una amplada uniforme des del cap fins a la meitat, estrenyent seguidament fins a la cua. El cap disposa d’un vel anterior bilobul·lat, amb cinc ramificacions petites bifurcades en cadascun dels lòbuls, espaiades regularment per la vora. En els marges del notum té deu parells de arboritzacions branquials, els dos primers parells poc desenvolupats i després les situades en posicions senars (3, 5, 7 i 9) més desenvolupades i bifurcades que les situades en posicions parells (4, 6, 8 i 10). Els rinòfors estan protegits per una beina rinofórica molt alta de color groc, amb la vora arrodonida i una mica oberta cap a l’exterior; rinòfors amb un mucró ben desenvolupat i de color groc que contrasta amb l’anell de papil·les circumdants, que són hialines i amb l’àpex blanc. Quan els rinòfors estan estesos les papil·les poden ser més llargues que el mateix mucró. Ulls situats a la base posterior dels rinòfors, on es poden veure per transparència. El peu té la vora anterior arrodonida i per la resta té la mateixa forma que el cos.
Biologia
L’únic exemplar capturat es va trobar entre restes de corall i hidrozous en una xarxa calada a 200 metres de profunditat. No se sap res més de la seva biologia.
Etimologia
- Candiella. Els autors clàssics no explicaven habitualment l’origen dels nombres triats.
- Taliartensis, per Taliarte, localitat situada a l’illa de Gran Canària, propera a el punt on va ser recol·lectat l’holotipus.
Distribució
Només es coneix a partir d’un únic exemplar capturat el febrer de 1983 a Taliarte, Telde, Gran Canària.
