Tambja marbellensis

Descripció
Cos limaciforme de fins a 45 mm de longitud (Pola et al. 2014) i amb el cap eixamplat. El color dels exemplars adults és blau grisenc (o verdós) molt fosc, gairebé negre, encara que els exemplars juvenils són de color verd clar. Té una banda longitudinal dorsal groga que comença a l’altura dels rinòfors i arriba fins a la corona branquial, coincidint amb una cresta dorsal que hi ha per sota (L. Sánchez-Tocino, 2016). Per darrere de cada rinòfor hi ha una línia groga que acaba a les brànquies, únicament visible en els exemplars adults. Dues ratlles grogues neixen també a la zona anterior de les brànquies i discorren paral·leles a la vora del mantell, acabant a la regió post-branquial. El dors de l’animal és llis, amb algunes espícules disperses i té vora llisa, de color groc, amb una línia central més fosca. El dors, els costats del cos i la cua acabada en punta tenen una sèrie de traços grocs de diferent longitud, que augmenten en nombre i complicació amb l’edat de l’animal però que comparteixen el disseny de tenir una línia central més fosca. En els exemplars adults els rinòfors i les brànquies són foscos, gairebé negres, mentre que en els exemplars juvenils aquests òrgans són de color blau fosc (L. Sánchez-Tocino, 2016). El peu disposa en la seva part anterior d’una sèrie de glàndules orals petites i arrodonides, i està vorejat per una banda de color groc que s’uneix amb la vora del mantell amb una línia del mateix color que arriba fins a la cua, la qual sobresurt del notus . Els rinòfors són retràctils, lamel·lats (amb prop de 25 laminetes cadascun) i tenen l’àpex en forma cònica. Al voltant de la base disposen d’una beina rinofòrica llisa, de color blau fosc i vorejada de groc. Disposa de dos tentacles orals curts i aplanats dorsoventralment. Entre els rinòfors i els tentacles orals, a cada costat del cos, hi ha sengles estructures lamel·lades, també presents en altres espècies del gènere (Yonow 1994; Pola et al. 2005; Pola et al. 2006). Les brànquies estan formades per 5 fulles tripinnades de color blau fosc que tenen el raquis exterior de color groc, no són retràctils i estan situades a la part posterior del notus, envoltant la papil·la anal. Les tres fulles branquials més centrals estan més desenvolupades que les laterals.

Biologia
Viu en fons rocallosos, els juvenils es troben sota pedres, sobre briozous Sessibugula barrosoi dels que probablement s’alimenten, almenys durant la seva etapa juvenil. Els exemplars s’han observat entre 3 i 20 metres de profunditat i es considera una espècie poc abundant. Per les seves característiques, hàbitat i distribució es pot arribar a confondre amb l’espècie Tambja ceutae, però Tambja marbellensis no té les papil·les còniques característiques que voregen el mantell i la cua de T. ceutae i disposa d’una ratlla de color marró enmig de totes les línies grogues del cos, tret absent en T. ceutae. A més, T. ceutae té el raquis interior de la brànquia de color groc, així com dos grans taques de color gris fosc situades darrera dels rinòfors.

Etimologia

• Marbellensis. Es refereix a Marbella, la localitat tipus d’aquesta espècie.

Distribució
Tambja marbellensis ha estat citada diverses vegades al sur d’Espanya des de la seva descripció original (Schick & Cervera 1998; Schick 1998; Ocaña et al. 2000, 2004; Sánchez-Tocino et al. 2000; García-Gómez 2002) i també a Portugal (Malaquias & Morenito 2000; Calado and Silva, 2012; Pola et al. 2014).
