Acochlidiimorpha

Es tracta d’un petit grup de Heterobranquis que comprèn unes 30 espècies a tot el món i que viuen en el medi intersticial marí o d’aigua dolça. Estan molt poc estudiats, són de mida molt petita i tenen una morfologia corporal una mica aberrant per tractar-se de mol·luscs, que està adaptada per viure i desplaçar-se entre les partícules de sediment.

Tenen un cos allargat, sense conquilla en estat adult i un mantell que sol disposar de nombroses espícules. No tenen ni cavitat paleal ni brànquies i el cap disposa de tentacles orals i rinòfors. Generalment els sexes són separats. Possiblement s’alimenten de microorganismes que viuen en el medi intersticial.

Considerats tradicionalment com un grup peculiar de Opistobranquis, els treballs recents de Jorger et al. (2010) i de Schrödl et al. (2011) tendeixen a apropar-los als gasteròpodes Pulmonats, dins del clade dels Panpulmonata.
