Descripció

Biologia

Etimologia

• Retusophiline. De Retusa (del llatí “retusus”, rom) i Philine (del grec “philainoi”, nom de dos germans cartaginesos que van lluitar per la seva pàtria i van rebre honors de Déus).
• Lima. Del Llatí “lima”, llima, gratador.

Distribució
Aquesta espècie té una distribució amfiatlàntica nord, des de Massachusetts fins a sobre de Groenlàndia, des d’Svalbard a la costa de Murman, al Mar Blanc, Mar de Kara, Terres de Francesc Josep (Odhner, 1915). A Noruega es troba cap al nord de les Illes Lofoten (Høisæter et al., 2001), però en el talús continental arriba fins al sud d’Ålesund (Høisæter, 2009). Pilsbry (1895) va citar que Monterosato va trobar aquesta espècie al mar Mediterrani, però, donada la distribució descrita per altres autors, això sembla poc probable i podria venir d’una identificació errònia.
