Biology

Etymology

  • Cuvierina. Diminutive of “Cuvieria”. Dedicated to Baron Georges Cuvier (1769-1832), scientist, zoologist and systematic of the nineteenth century.
  • Columnella. From Latin “Columna”, column. Refers to the shape of the shell of this animal.
