Biology

Etymology

  • Runcina. From Latin “runcina”, carpenter’s plane, a tool used to smooth the wood’s surface.
  • Capreensis. Probably derived from Capri, an island in the Campania region (Italy) + “-ensis” Latin suffix added to a toponimic to form an adjective. Means “from Capri”.
