Sea Slug Identification Using AI

Our colleague Gustavo Zafra (Yespi) has developed an artificial intelligence tool to help you identify sea slugs from photographs. The system suggests the most likely candidates and, when an entry is available in OPK – Opistobranquis, provides a direct link to the relevant species information.

How does it work?

  1. Upload a clear photograph of a sea slug (maximum 10 MB).
  2. The system will analyse the image and show you up to 4 candidates, including the scientific name, confidence percentage, and a link to OPK, if a species entry is available.

Important: This tool is designed exclusively to identify sea slugs, not other animal groups. The results are indicative and should be treated as an aid to identification, not as a definitive confirmation. Use restrictions apply.

Privacy: The photograph is processed in memory and is not stored.
