Etimologia

• Pontohedyle. Molt probablement relacionats amb “Pontos”, en la mitologia grega és una antiga personificació de la mar; pare de Nereu + “hedys”, dolç.
• Milaschewitchii. Probablement dedicat a K.Os. Milaschewitch (18?? – 19??). Va publicar sobre mol·luscs Pontians almenys fins 1916 i probablement pot la mateixa persona que Constantin Milaschewitch, que va publicar sobre la paleontología de los corales ja el 1875 (juntament amb Ewald Becker), perquè el seu nom de pila es lletrejava generalment amb K.
